do i have to go to 2nd life to get some action?

ok, how about this...is there a way to turn off the #$%*& eclipse ui in the standard version? it is the mail/calendar module that is causing all the problems and i dont much like it anyway. it doesnt give you that much benefit for what you are asked to give up anyway (eg selection gutter). why not have these interfaces user-reversable to the basic mail/calendar versions?
